Baked Cafe
Breakfast Sandwiches & Burgers
In-house baked breads and amazing service with their trademark ‘tude!
We keep coming back to The Baked Cafe because it feels like Camano in a nutshell: local, no-nonsense, and seriously good food.
They bake their own bread and buns daily from Northwest grains, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The sourdough is massive and delicious, and I usually grab an extra loaf to keep in the fridge for the week.
We don’t eat red meat, but everyone we’ve spoken to here tell us their burgers are easily some of the best you’ll find on the island, juicy and cooked just right on fresh-baked buns. For us, honestly, it’s the breakfast sandwiches that hook us every time—the bacon in particular is worth the trip on its own. They round things out with fries, or tots, that vanish quickly, and we can even grab one of the Ale Spike brews chilling in the fridge.
Seating is limited inside, so we often take ours to the Commons benches, or pack it up for a beach picnic at English Boom or Camano State Park. Service can be playful, sometimes brusque, but always authentic—it’s part of the character of the place. The owners even joke about their “‘tude problem,” and it mostly fits. We love them, our numerous experience with them, and will forever keep going back.
The Baked Cafe is one of those spots that makes you feel like you’re eating among neighbors rather than at a business. That’s exactly why I keep going back.
